About Anne Jacobs

Meet Anne, yoga teacher and founder of Yoga Home in Maastricht

My name is Anne Jacobs, and I am a yoga teacher in Maastricht and the founder of Yoga Home — a small and welcoming yoga studio where peace, softness, and personal attention are at the heart of everything we do.

My mission is to create a place where you truly feel at ease. A place that feels like home, where nothing is expected of you and where you can fully be yourself.

In my yoga studio in Maastricht, I help you slow down, relax, and reconnect with your body.

My Path from Social Worker to Yoga

Personal connection has always been at the heart of who I am. For many years, I believed that this meant I belonged in social care. As a social worker and sexologist, I worked in some incredibly meaningful settings where I was able to support people in profound ways. Work that I truly loved. Because I could empathize deeply with others, creating genuine connection came naturally to me. But over time, I also realized how much this was asking of me personally. Eventually, I chose a different path, one where I could still be there for others, but in a softer and more sustainable way: through yoga. My first step was teaching trauma-sensitive yoga to clients with PTSD. It felt so right that, after much trial and error, I decided to leave social care entirely and dedicate myself fully to yoga. And now, I feel that I am gradually becoming more and more who I truly am.

I became a yoga teacher while I was pregnant

At 36 weeks pregnant, with a beautifully round belly, I completed my very first Yin Yoga teacher training. During my pregnancy, yoga became a way to slow down, reconnect with myself, and support my body through all the changes it was going through. Every week felt different. Some days were filled with relaxation and enjoyment, while other moments asked me to face uncertainty and fears. Throughout both of my pregnancies — and especially in the periods afterwards — yoga became something I could always return to for grounding, rest, and support. Helping others feel good in their bodies, relax deeply, and trust themselves is what I love most. That is why I continued my journey with additional teacher trainings in Hatha Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Pregnancy Yoga, Postnatal Yoga, and Mama & Baby Yoga.

My Vision on Yoga Teaching

I love witnessing how people are able to relax, let go, and soften during a yoga class. It brings me joy to offer a warm and personal space where you can simply be yourself and leave feeling calmer and more grounded. I haven’t always found it easy to take good care of myself in a world that often asks a lot of me — and still does. Through yoga, I’ve learned that I don’t have to ignore how I feel or push beyond my limits. I want to help you experience what it feels like to treat yourself with warmth and gentleness, especially in moments when you may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or low. In those moments, you are allowed to choose what truly feels right for you.
